ASP.NET is Microsoft’s solution for developing highly integrated and efficient websites that can support sophisticated functionality. The ASP.NET development platform is known as a web application framework which actually enables California web design specialists to concentrate on creating highly specialized websites instead of being bothered about the underlying technology to support the complexity of the site. The entire gamut of tools required for efficient web design is already provided within the ASP.NET framework. Web designers can now use the tools at their disposal to rapidly develop applications in record time. The time saved in this process can even be used to add extra functionality to the website. ASP.NET helps web design specialists do their job quickly and effectively and at the same time gives their clients the advantage of highly advanced functionality for their sites. Developing complex websites using traditional web design methods have always proved cumbersome. For instance if a particular website had 30 pages, the navigation menus on each page of the website need to display all these 30 links. In other words, there were 30 copies of these menus spread out across the website. Even if one of the links had to be modified, that minor change had to be done in all the 30 pages. This made the web designers’ job extremely difficult. Redundancy of information was one of the main problems that traditional web design methods gave rise to. Web scripting languages on the other hand deal with this problem quite effectively. Since they allow embedding the contents of one file inside another, it is possible to have just one copy of the navigation menu and insert that single file into all the 30 pages of the website. Any changes to the menu now needs to be done only on this single file which would then get reflected in all the 30 pages which makes this an excellent method for drastically reducing data redundancy. It also cuts short the time required to make modifications to the website. Version 1.0 of ASP.NET was released in January 2002. Microsoft earlier had developed a web scripting language called Active Server Pages or ASP for short. ASP had functionality similar to other web scripting languages like PHP and JSP. During the early stages of development of ASP.NET, it was simply called ASP+. Later on as the entire .NET framework took shape, it was renamed to ASP.NET. As time goes by, the ASP.NET framework is getting more and more powerful, making it an ideal platform for web development both for Sacramento web designspecialists as well as for end users.
